Leo J. Levandowski, age 85, of Mosinee, Wis., died Tuesday Dec. 13, 2016 at North Ridge Assisted Living in Stevens Point.

Leo was born Oct. 16, 1931 in Stevens Point. He is the son of the late Frank & Emily (Novak) Levandowski. He entered the U.S. Army on Nov. 13, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wis. He received the Korean Service Ribbon with 1 Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged Sept. 21, 1954 at Fort Sheridan, Ill.

His marriage to Hedwig (Cisewski) Salvinski took place on Sept. 26, 1998 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. She survives.

Leo farmed all of his life in the Town of Dewey. He was a lifetime member of the Mosinee VFW. He enjoyed listening to Polka’s, going to church picnics and gardening. In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include his wife Hedwig; five step-sons: Dave (special friend Brenda) Salvinski of Stevens Point, Paul (Shelly) Salvinski of Fla., Chet (Marcy) Salvinski of Stevens Point, Leo Salvinski of Fla. and Jim Salvinski of Stevens Point; one stepdaughter, Shirley (Steve) Wiesshoff of Fla.; two brothers: Norbert of Mosinee and Benny (Bernice) Levandowski of Stevens Point; three sisters: Adeline Slumbarski of Mosinee, Bernice Kawleski of Mosinee and Marion Cachur of Ill.

He also survived by many step-grand and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one stepson, Joseph and one brother, Richard.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM Thursday at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St. in Stevens Point and from 9:30 AM until the time of services Friday morning at the church.
