Panther Wrestlers Fall to Marshfield

The SPASH wrestling team took it on the chin Thursday night, losing 52-22 to Marshfield at the SPASH Fieldhouse.
The Tigers jumped out early winning the first seven matches. Panther freshman Justin Groshek got on the board, pinning Shane Westernhausen at 1:23. Senior Brady Koontz followed with a pin over Caden Dennee at 1:24 and Chance Bailey picked up the win on a major decision, 12-3 beating Marshfield’s Caden Pearce.
Junior varsity wrestlers took two matches from Marshfield at 113, with Xavier Klein posting a pin at 1:12 and Cooper Behnke taking a 15-10 win.
The Panthers drop to 0-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference after dropping a 34-32 match at Wausau West on Dec. 8.
The next action for the Panthers will be at Fond du Lac High School on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 9 AM.
SPASH returns home Dec. 22 when they host Chippewa Falls at 7 PM.
