Panthers lady gymnasts team took a big win over Marshfield on Monday.

The SPASH tumblers won by a score of 133.65 – 123.75 during Parent’s Night at the school’s fieldhouse.

Junior Olivia Clemens, who is also team captain, took first place in floor exercise (9.050), uneven bars (8.50) and vaulting (8.85); and second place in the balance beam (8.80) to clinch the All-Around Title with a combined score of 35.2.

Teammate Gabby Johnson scored 8.9 on the balance beam to finish first.

While Clemens is the team’s has highest team all-around scorer, senior Lauren Woyak, who is a first-year gymnast, is also one of the team’s highest floor scorers.

Second-place finishes went to Lauren Woyak in the floor exercise (8.7) and Brianna Behne on uneven bars (7.925).
Renee Hinchcliffe took third in the balance beam (8.55), uneven bars (7.75) and second in All-Around (33.15).

“Renee is a quiet sophomore who has been diligent in earning consistency,” said coach Jennifer Bellmer. “Watch for her to be a top-notch contender.”

Bellmer said the team doubled in size this year — also doubling the team’s diversity.

“Each person has been bringing a variety of experiences which have been enhancing the depth of our talent,” Bellmer added. “There’s lots of potential, but it will take some time to adjust to their new requirements.”

Individual winners for the junior varsity included Bailey Herzog on uneven bars (6.9); Jessica Kruzicki on vault (8.2); and Megan Miklesh on floor exercise (8.2).

Marshfield took the junior varsity meet by a final score of 114.25 – 91.35.

The Panthers return to the mat Jan. 3, 2017 when they travel to Chequamegon High School for a 5:45 PM Great Northern Conference Meet.
