Irene H. “Arlene” Benaszeski, 76, Rothschild, a Stevens
Point native, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Davita-Wausau Dialysis Center,
after an 18 month long battle with a rare autoimmune disease, “A.N.C.A.
Vasculitis,” formerly known as Wegener’s.


Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at St. Mark
Catholic Church in Rothschild, with the Rev. Allan Slowiak officiating. Burial
will be in Mosinee Cemetery in Mosinee.


Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Friday until the
services.


Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee assisted with arrangements. Condolences
may be offered online at www.bestefh.com.


Mrs. Benaszeski was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Stevens Point, a
daughter of the late Florian and Lillian (Landowski) Wanta.


She was married to David Benaszeski Feb. 7, 1959, at St.
Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent.


She was involved in politics and served as a Marathon County
Board member.


Survivors include her husband, David; two sons, James
Benaszeski, Rothschild, and John (Tracy) Benaszeski, Tomahawk; two daughters,
Lori Benaszeski, Minocqua, and Gayle (Terry) Rutlin, Rhinelander; one brother,
Myron Wanta; one sister, Delores Schneider; and six grandchildren.
