LeRoy W. Johnson, 65, father of an Amherst man, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at his home in Ogdensburg.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Clintonville, with Pastor Kurt Hettinga officiating. Full military honors will follow. Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Iola.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the service.

The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.hollyfuneralhome.com.

Mr. Johnson was born March 16, 1951, in Waupaca, a son of the
late Theodore and Alta (Hanke) Johnson.

He was married to Jean Moericke June 25, 1988, at Bethany Evangelical
Free Church in Clintonville.

He retired after 45 years of working as a machinist and
stockroom technician for the Waupaca Foundry.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Johnson, Ogdensburg; four
children, Bradley (Jennifer) Johnson, Amherst, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Adam) Wiebe,
West Bend, Heather (Mark) Tiseling, Winneconne, and Benjamin Johnson,
Scandinavia; three brothers, Warren Johnson, Weyauwega, Theodore Johnson,
Almond, and Donald (Judy) Johnson, Glen Flora; three sisters, Kay Goetsch, St.
Louis, Mo., Joan West, Appleton, and Donna (Steve) Lumsden, Cedar Park, Texas; and
15 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Anastasia
“Stacy” Johnson in infancy; one brother, Ronald Johnson; and one granddaughter.
