Carol J. Trempe, 86, Marinette, mother of Portage County priest, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Bay Area Medical Center (BAMC) in Marinette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Resurrection Church in Menominee, Mich., with the Rev. James Trempe, her son, presiding, and Father Brad and Father Mark concelebrating, with Deacon Vince Beckley the homilist. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette. Her son is pastor of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish on Highway 54 between Plover and Waupaca and previously served as pastor for 13-years at St. Bronislava Church in Plover.

Visitation will be at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil prayer service with the Rev. Trempe following.

Mrs. Trempe was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Marinette, a daughter
of the late Christian and Wilhelmina (Borst) Menor. She attended Marinette schools
and graduated from Marinette High School in 1948.

She was employed by Marinette County in the county clerk and
University Extension offices for 18 years before retiring in February 1989.

She was a member of Resurrection Parish, the Woman’s Club of
the parish, Minister of Praise group, the Legion of Mary Auxiliary, St. Anne’s
Sodality, the Menominee Woman’s Club, BAMC Auxiliary and a regular adorer at
the Adoration Chapel.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean (John) Therriault,
Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Julie (Kevin) Parkansky, Wrightstown; one son, Rev. James
Trempe, Plover; three grandchildren: Nicole, Matthew and Meghan; and two
great-grandchildren: Celeste and Eva Rose.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and
George Menor; and one sister, Marie Allgeyer.
