Mary ‘Jane’ Van Ert

Mary “Jane” Van Ert, 89, Rudolph, a town of Carson native, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Wellington Place in Whiting.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Rudolph, with the Rev. Dave Bruener officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph.

Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.

The family will designate a memorial at a later date.

Mrs. Van Ert was born April 7, 1927, in Greenwood, a
daughter of the late Homer and Loretta (Moorehead) Potter.

She was married to Alois Van Ert Oct. 28, 1952, at St. Philip
Catholic Church in Rudolph. He died in 2003.

She was employed by Preway for 21 years, retiring Nov. 20,
1987.

She belonged to the Parish Council of Catholic Women St.
Mary’s Group at St. Philip’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two children, Kenneth (Marivic) Van Ert and
Diane (Alan) Dassow, both of Rudolph; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald; and four
brothers, John, Edward, Raymond and Robert Potter.
