John J. Hudy Jr.

John J. Hudy Jr., 83, Stevens Point, a retired captain of the Stevens Point Fire Department, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with Deacon Vern Linzmeier officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Thursday until the services.

Mr. Hudy was born June 8, 1933, in Stevens Point, a son of
the late John and Martha (Pionek) Hudy Sr. He attended St. Peter Grade School
and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1952.
He was married to Elsie Yach Sept. 10, 1955.
He worked at Vetter Manufacturing until 1963, when he
accepted a job at the Stevens Point Fire Department. He became a driver Jan. 1,
1968; a lieutenant May 1, 1975; and a captain Feb. 17, 1978. He retired as a captain
March 2, 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elsie; one daughter,
Nancy (Scott Kramer); one brother, Richard (Margaret) Hudy; one grandson, Kyle
Krutza; one sister-in-law, Marie (James) Garbrecht; one brother-in-law,
Lawrence Yach; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Hudy.
