John E. Thomas, 72, Almond, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Victory Church, E3443 S. Appletree Lane, Waupaca.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

Mr. Thomas was born April 14, 1944, in Milwaukee, a son of the
late Arden and Margery (Laukenman) Thomas.

He was married to Darlene Pomerenke July 27, 1963, at
Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Thomas, Almond; two
children, Shelley Thomas, Waupaca, and Jamie (Tatiana) Thomas, Manassas, Va.; one
daughter-in-law, Jane Thomas, Almond; four brothers, Henry (Patty) Thomas,
Phillips, Donald Thomas, Vesper, Jeff (Nancy) Thomas, Arpin, and Fred Thomas,
Vesper; one sister, Marjorie (Andy) Hogan, Rudolph; five grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Brian Thomas; and
two brothers, Jim Thomas and Arden Thomas.
