Second-ranked SPASH boys go 2-0 at Sentry Classic

The Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) boys
basketball team ran its win streak at the Sentry Classic to 15 games, after it
won a pair of games at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse Thursday and Friday,
Dec. 29 and 30.
The second-ranked Panthers pulled away from Hortonville
(1-4) for a 69-53 victory Thursday night, and went on to a 65-37 win over
Sussex Hamilton (5-4) in the finale of the 45th Sentry Classic Friday night to
improve to 8-1 this season.
“It was a lot of fun,” said senior guard Beau Rosenthal.
“We’re very happy with what we did in this, and we’re going to hopefully keep
it going into conference.”
“(Thursday) night, playing after the Pointer game, there was
a really good crowd and we love playing here,” said SPASH boys basketball head
coach Scott Anderson. “It’s a special tournament.
“The thing’s been going on for 45 years, and with all of the
great players and teams that have come through here and been a part of this,
it’s just neat for these guys to come and put their little stamp on it and have
a good weekend and play well,” he said.
