‘Uncle Scrooge’ speech given to County Board on groundwater

My very own Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) has delivered something of an “Uncle Scrooge” speech to the Portage County Board of Supervisors in the midst of our annual Christmas celebration, and declared trees use as much water as irrigated potatoes.
The reference being a tree landscape as is Wisconsin is the same consequence were the landscape under irrigation. By inference, were high-cap wells as wide spread as the collective Wisconsin forest, there would be no impact on groundwater.
