Dean M. Bailey

Dean M. Bailey, 92, formerly of the town of Rome (Nekoosa)
and father of a Plover woman, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute
Care in New Holstein.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan.
14, at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, with the Rev. Bill Fischer officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday
and again from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the service. Military rites will be
provided by Nekoosa Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5960.

Mr. Bailey was born June 9, 1924, in Belvidere, Ill., a son
of the late Fred and Alversa (Rote) Bailey.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the
Pacific Theater.
He was married to Jean Warner Sept. 6, 1947, in Janesville. She
died May 31, 2006.
He was formerly employed at Smith Oil Company in Rockford, Ill.,
and was a bartender at several establishments in Illinois.
He was a member of the Wisconsin Rapids Elks Club and was a
former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include four children, Dan (Marilyn) Bailey,
Nekoosa, Nancy (Rod) Hoppe, Chilton, Sharon Bailey, Wisconsin Rapids, and Janet
(special friend Jim Ross) Bailey, Plover; one sister, Marion “Jeanette” Hector,
Billings, Mont.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Herb.
