Elsie Weir died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the Plover – Shuda Funeral Home in Plover, with Deacon Hugh Walker officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.
Memorials will be established in her name for the Plover
Library and the Humane Society of Portage County.

Mrs. Weir was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Stevens Point, a
daughter of the late Louis and Inez (Grover) Tufte. She graduated from P.J.
Jacobs High School in 1953.
She was married to Leroy J. Weir on March 6, 1954. He died
in 1985.
Survivors include three children, Terry (Carol) Weir, Plover,
Susan Brubaker, Wausau, and Kathi (Gerald) Firkus, Stevens Point; one sister,
Judy Carew, Watertown; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Tufte.
