Laura B. Mlodik-Walashek, 105, Stevens Point, died Tuesday,
Jan. 10, 2017, at the Portage County Health Care Center.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Jan. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Dennis
Stanchik officiating. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Rosholt.


Visitation will be at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens
Point from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, and at the church from 9:30 a.m.
Monday until the Mass. A parish rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home.


Memorials in her name will be established at a later date.

Mrs. Mlodik-Walashek was born May 1, 1911, in Shantytown, a daughter
of the late Michael and Mary (Goskowicz) Stroik. She attended schools in the
town of Alban.


She helped run the family dairy farm.


After moving to Stevens Point, she worked cleaning various
offices in Stevens Point until the age of 84.


She was married to Henry Mlodik Oct. 26, 1926, the second
couple to be married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway after it was
established. He died in February 1970.


She was married to Ben Walashek Nov. 27, 1971, at St. Joseph
Church in Stevens Point. He died Sept. 1, 2006.


She was a member of the St. Anne’s Society of St. Joseph
Parish.


Survivors include one son; Gerald (Joanne) Mlodik, Stevens
Point; one daughter, Henrietta Gilmeister, Stevens Point; one son-in-law; Ernie
Simkowski, Stevens Point; one brother, Sylvester Stroik, Plover; a special
grandson, Arnold (Karen) Mlodik, Galloway; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Stroik,
Stevens Point; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 54
great-great-grandchildren; and three stepdaughters, Mary (Herman) Lassa, Fran
(Bob) Lassa and Rose (Maury) Stoltz, all of Stevens Point.


She was also preceded in death by one son, Hubert Mlodik;
one daughter, Loretta Laska-Simkowski; one son-in-law, Leonard Gilmeister; one
infant son, Richard Mlodik; four sisters, Frances, Regina, Verna and Theresa;
two brothers, Dominik and Ernest Stroik; and two grandchildren.
