Robert J. Lassa, 77, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the Mass, with a parish rosary prayed at 10 a.m.

A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

The Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.

Mr. Lassa was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Stevens Point, a son of
the late Edward and Agnes (Skupniewicz) Lassa. He attended St. Peter Grade
School, Emerson School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1957.

He was married to Frances “Fran” Walashek Oct. 14, 1961, at
St. Peter Catholic Church.

After their marriage, they settled in Stevens Point.

As a young man, he worked for the Stevens Point Journal and
Vetters Manufacturing for a number of years. He then worked for the city of
Stevens Point Streets Department from 1965 until his retirement in 1986.

He started his own band, the Rhythm Masters Polka Band.

Survivors include his wife, Fran; one daughter, Lori (David)
Biadasz, Amherst; two sons, Tom (Bev Derezinski) Lassa and David (Charlene)
Lassa, both of Stevens Point; one brother, Herman (Mary) Lassa, Stevens Point; three
sisters, Marian (Bill) Kolinski, Genevieve Bialas and Sue (Bob) Wierzba, all of
Stevens Point; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
