Organizers have announced the You…Only Better Health & Wellness Fair will be held Jan. 23.
Adventure 212 and the Holiday Inn have teamed up for the fifth annual community health fair, which will be held at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center from 4 PM to 8 PM, and admission is free.
“The health fair started out when two marketing people got together for lunch; what we ended up with was amazing,” said Michelle Sedlak, director of sales at the Holiday Inn and one of the original founders of the health fair. “In just 90 days, we were able to put together a health fair.”
This year’s organizers are Kayla Ashburn, sales manager at the Holiday Inn and Michelle Jensen, corporate wellness consultant at Adventure 212.
This year’s event will be a little different because it will be held in conjunction with Business After Hours, a monthly event organized by the Portage County Business Council.”
“We really hope the later hours will encourage more people to attend since they can stop in after their work day is done,” Ashburn said.
Some of the vendors expected this year include Aspirus Women’s Health, Infinity Wellness & Chiropractic, 5 Rings Martial Arts, UWSP Adventure Tours, Brings Cycling, Miracle Ear, Heartland Hospice and the Wisconsin Aging & Disability Resource Center.
The community health fair began five years ago with the aim to improve the seven dimensions of wellness — intellectual, physical, spiritual, environmental, occupational, emotional and social/cultural.
Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center is located at 101 Amber Avenue.
