Wayne J. Scheider

Wayne John Scheider, 87, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Plover, with Pastor Steve Hulke officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the services.
A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Mr. Scheider was born Feb. 5, 1929, in the town of Buena
Vista, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Deutscher) Scheider. He attended area
schools graduating from Almond High School in 1946.
After his father’s death, he continued farming with horses
to care for his mother.
He was married to Joan Newby in 1954.
After the family farm was sold in 1955, he began a 33-year
career with the state of Wisconsin Civil Service and purchased a home in
Arlington in 1956.
He stepped out of management as a grounds supervisor at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) to transfer to UW-Stevens Point as a grounds
keeper in 1979 to care for two aging mothers.
He purchased the Harrison and Loretta Newby property, a 160-acre
farm and a small mobile home park. He retired in 1988 and sold the mobile home
park in 1999.
He underwent a number of health hardships in the ensuing
years and achieved mobility with a lawn mower.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; two sons, Edward (Karen) and
Thomas (Christine) Scheider; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Marvin.
