Joseph E. Baker, 59, Port Edwards, father of a Stevens Point
woman, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at his home.


A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan.
28, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.


Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday.

Mr. Baker was born Dec. 24, 1957, in Juneau, Alaska, a son
of the late Carl and Mary (Jackson) Baker. He was an enrolled member of the
Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.


He was married to Jocelyn Kramer Dec. 22, 2000, in
Anchorage, Alaska.


He worked as a tattoo artist at Northern Lights Tattoo in
Alaska and also did tattooing from his home in Port Edwards. He also worked as
a security guard in Long Island, Alaska.


Survivors include his wife, Jocelyn; 10 children, John
Baker, Ashland, Christie Koch, Green Bay, Matt (Dawn) Franck, Wisconsin Rapids,
Kitty Franck, Tony, Misty (Robert) Bauer, Auburndale, Joanie (Gary) Smith,
Wisconsin Rapids, Roxanne Hooper, Wisconsin Rapids, Joseph (April) Baker, Port
Edwards, Elizabeth (AJ) Baker, Stevens Point, and Kaylin O’Donnell, Rhode
Island; five siblings, Cora, Ogema, Jeanette, Washington, Jerry, North
Carolina, and Ed and Sally, both of Alaska; 30 grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; and special friends, Clair Visgar and Patti Czappa.


He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard
King; one brother, Jay Baker; one son, James Franck; and four grandchildren.
