A Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration previously scheduled for Jan. 16 has been rescheduled.
The new program will be held Monday, Feb. 27 at SPASH. The first program was cancelled due to bad weather.
The keynote speaker will be award-winning singer, author and storyteller Stuart Stotts. A Kennedy Center teaching artist, Stotts has released several award-winning recordings and is the author of six books, including We Shall Overcome: A Song That Changed the World and Father Groppi: Civil Rights Leader.
This program will also include the presentation of the 2017 John Klismet Justiceworks Award. This year’s award recipient is Tiffani Krueger, founding member of the non-profit Evergreen Community Initiatives.
Discussion and socializing will follow in the school’s commons. Refreshments from area church youth groups will be available.
The program begins at 7 PM at Stevens Point Area Senior High School, 1201 Northpoint Drive.
