Mary A. Weisner, 91, Stevens Point, died Tuesday, Jan. 24,
2017, at the Riverview Lodge Assisted Living Center.


A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in
the spring.


Memorials in her name may be donated to the Humane Society
of Portage County.


The Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted with
arrangements.Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mrs. Weisner was born Jan. 3, 1926, in the town of Linn in
Walworth County, a daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Reek) Merwin. She
graduated from Walworth High School in 1943.


She later attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville
(UW-Platteville), obtaining a degree in biology.


She was married to Warren Weisner Sept. 19, 1947. They later
divorced.


During her career, she worked as an event coordinator at UW-Platteville
and as convention coordinator for the Holiday Inn on the north side of Stevens
Point, and, until her retirement, for the Concourse Hotel and Convention Center
in Madison. She retired from the Concourse in 1992.


Survivors include three daughters, Julie Holmes, Stevens
Point, Georgia (John) Baumgarth, Duluth, Minn., and Kristine (William) Podolak,
Baraboo; three close nephews, Richard (Sandra) Lofthouse, Fennimore, Thom
(Judy) Lofthouse, Loves Park, Ill., and David Lofthouse, Wisconsin Dells; seven
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one brother, George Merwin;
one sister, Janice Armstrong; and one son-in-law Ken Holmes.
