County leaders tackle space needs in short order
In less than 30 minutes, Portage County Executive Operations Committee members looked at four options for space needs and determined a decision on which one (or ones) to move forward with will be decided next month.
“Think seriously about what we can get a three-quarters consensus with,” Chair Phil Idsvoog said. “I’ll come back in March with some recommendations” based off of information gathered at the meeting Tuesday, Jan. 24.
The next Executive Operations Committee meeting is scheduled for 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 1. Following the space needs decision at that meeting, the committee expects to hold a joint meeting with the Space and Properties Committee. It is expected that a proposal will then move forward to the full County Board for a vote.
The board must have three-quarters of the board in agreement in order to approve funding for projects.
