Phyllis L. Engebretson, 89, Plover, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Maple Ridge Assisted Living in Plover.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Boston Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clay Schmit presiding. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service.

Mrs. Engebretson was born Nov. 5, 1927,in Stevens Point, a
daughter of the late William and Anna (Myers) Epright. She grew up in Stevens
Point, attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in
1945.

She was married to Melvin “Mickey” Engebretson Aug. 6, 1949,
at First Baptist Church in Stevens Point. He died May 16, 1996.

After high school, she worked for Weber Tackle, tying flies
until she started a family, then she worked for Marathon Bait, tying flies at
home for many years while raisingeight children.

She was involved in quilting, sewing, stenciling and machine
embroidery.

She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a
member of The Centerpoint Walking Club for 12 years.

Survivors include seven children, Barbara Bublitz and Betty
(Todd) Moskonas, both of Stevens Point, Susan Stommel andJoan (Steven) Dobeck,
both of Plover, Jeanne (Timothy) Oksiuta, Ashland, Merry (Rodney) Seavers,
Junction City, and Larry (Teresa) Engebretson, Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law,
Karen Engebretson, Plover; one sister, Marcella Monien;21 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jerome and James
“Jim;” one brother, Fred Epright;one son-in-law, Russell Bublitz; two grandsons;
and one great-granddaughter.
