John Stephen Makuski, 65, a Stevens Point native, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

Condolences may be offered online at taylorfuneralhome.net.

Mr. Makuski was born May 25, 1951, in Stevens Point, a son
of the late Bernard and Catherine (Sigmund) Makuski.

He has been together with his significant other, Annette
Hogan, for 27 years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter and was
stationed in England during the Vietnam War.

He was employed as an auto body technician for several years.
During the summers he would help out his sister and brother-in law on their
potato farm.

Survivors include his significant other, Annette Hogan,
Rudolph; two daughters, LeAnn(Nick) Helback, Plover, and Sarah Makuski, Stevens
Point; three sisters, Jeanette (Melvin) Wiza, Polonia, Lucille Brown, state of
Washington, and Betty (John) Bielen, Owen; a special sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Audrey Hogan and Richard Sedevic, Friendship;and one grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and
Alex; and two infant siblings.
