Jean Elaine Fandre, 84, Stevens Point, the widow of a
retired Stevens Point police chief, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25,
at Woodlands Church in Plover, with the Rev. Brian Berg officiating. Burial
will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau.

Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday,
Feb. 25, until the service.

Memorials may be given to Woodlands Church Mission’s Fund or
Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Mrs. Fandre was born April 25, 1932, in Edgar, a daughter of
the late Elgart and Selma (Weith) Heise. She attended the one-room Findorf
School and was salutatorian of Edgar High School’s Class of 1950.

She attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to
become a home economics teacher. She worked at the College Eat Shop.

She was married to Joseph P. Fandre Aug. 22, 1953, in Rib
Falls. He died March 26, 2012.

They lived in California while he served in the U.S. Air
Force and then returned to Wisconsin to raise their two children and four
foster children.

She worked for nearly three decades as the bookkeeper at
Shippy Shoes.

She attended a weekly Fellowship Bible Study for 38 years
and was a member of Woodlands Church, where she was active in the Senior Group.

Survivors include one son, Allen (Kathy) Fandre, Stevens
Point; one daughter, Pat (Marty) Feldhake, Pickford, Mich.; five grandchildren;
and two great-grandsons.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Heise;
and one brother, Edward Heise.
