Germaine L. Lorbeck

Germaine L. Lorbeck, 84, formerly of Stevens Point, died
Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at Whispering Pines in Plover.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday,
Feb. 6, at Holy Spirit Parish, with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating.
Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens
Point from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, with a rosary prayed at 4 p.m., and at
the church from 10:30 a.m. Monday until the Mass.

Mrs. Lorbeck was born April 3, 1932, in the town of Stockton,
a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Shulfer) Herman. Her parents died
when she was 2 years old, and she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Martin and
Lillian Stich. The family lived in Green Bay, and she graduated from Green Bay
West High School.
She was married to Lloyd M. Lorbeck May 29, 1954, at St.
Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died in 1984.
The couple settled in Stevens Point where they raised their
family while owning and operating RJ Vending. She did the bookkeeping for the
family business until her retirement.
Survivors include four children, Mike Lorbeck, Kim (Mike)
Esler, Lynn (Bob) Schipferling and Peter (Sheri) Lorbeck; four sisters,
Elizabeth Ward, Dorothy (Bob) Allen, Elaine (Jim) Gillis and Rose (Dave) Van
Calster; two brothers, Leonard (Freda) Herman and Anton (Pat) Bronk; two sisters-in-law,
Arlene Lorbeck and Mary Ann Lorbeck; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Caroline
(Larry) Piotrowski and Mona Solway; and numerous infant brothers and sisters.
