Books From the Heart Returns for 19th Year

City Times Staff
Books from the Heart is returning to local elementary schools.
With just shy of two decades on the books — pun intended — the program operates with the sole purpose of providing a new book to every student in grades K-2. The program operates in both public and parochial schools, and books are delivered directly to students in time for Valentine’s Day.
And once again this year, the public is able to help.
Two local book stores are offering discounts for age-appropriate books. The Book Look, 2724 Post Rd., and Book World, 1136 Main St., will offer a 20 percent discount for all books purchased and donated to the program. Each book store has book plates, which can be personalized by the donor, then placed inside the book
The discount program is available through Feb. 10. Both stores will hold the books for distribution in schools.
Monetary contributions can also be made to: Books from the Heart, c/o Sally Crane, Kennedy Elementary School, 616 West Second Street, Junction City, Wis., 54443. Proceeds are used to purchase additional books for students.
