Germaine L. Lorbeck, age 84, formerly of Stevens Point passed away Monday morning Jan. 30, 2017 at Whispering Pines in Plover.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine will be held at 11 AM on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at Holy Spirit Parish. Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 3 PM to 5 PM on Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point with the Rosary being said at 4 PM. Monday visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the church.

Germaine was born April 3, 1932 in the Town of Stockton, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Shulfer) Herman. Her parents died when she was two years old, and she was lovingly taken in and raised by her aunt and uncle: Martin and Lillian Stich. The family lived in Green Bay and Germaine graduated from Green Bay West High School.

While visiting her sister in Stevens Point she met the love of her life. Germaine married Lloyd M. Lorbeck on May 29, 1954 at St. Peters Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point where they raised their family while owning and operating RJ Vending. Germaine did the bookkeeping for the family business until her retirement.

Germaine is survived by her four children: Mike Lorbeck; Kim (Mike) Esler; Lynn (Bob) Schipferling; Peter (Sheri) Lorbeck. Five grandchildren: Samantha (Travis) Love, Eric and Brian Schipferling, Kelsey and Kendra Lorbeck. Two great grandchildren: Kaden and Xander Love. Four sisters: Elizabeth Ward, Dorothy (Bob) Allen, Elaine (Jim) Gillis, Rose (Dave) Van Calster. Two brothers: Leonard (Freda) Herman and Anton (Pat) Bronk. Two sisters-in-law: Arlene Lorbeck and Mary Ann Lorbeck. Special friends and neighbors: Betty Strong and Pat and Eddie Bohanski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd in 1984, her two sisters: Caroline (Larry) Piotrowski, Mona Solway, and numerous infant brothers and sisters. Her parents-in-law Victor and Ada Lorbeck. Her brother and sisters-in-law: Richard ( Florence ) Lorbeck, Ruth (Ben) Lapinski, Elaine (Bud) Dobeck, Victor Lorbeck, Greg Lorbeck, Jim Ward.
