Mary G. Novak
Mary G. Novak, 75, Iola, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at the Atrium Post Acute Care facility in Whiting after a battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point.

Mrs. Novak was born July 6, 1941, in Strongstown, Pa., a
daughter or the late Ben and Minnie (Burt) Ober. After graduating from Penns
Manor High School, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a
secretary in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Her other work
experience included a position in the FAA in Holyoke, Mass., and at the Army
Proving Grounds in Sandusky, Ohio.
After a hiatus from employment, she returned to the work
force as a physical therapy assistant at the Indiana Hospital, a position from
which she retired after more than 17 years.
She was married to Frank Novak Oct. 28, 1961. He died Dec.
After their marriage, they resided in Penn Run, Pa.
After her retirement, she moved to Wisconsin to spend more
time with her daughter.
She was a seamstress and won numerous awards at the county
fairs over the years for her baking skills.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Marie Novak; four
sisters, Loretta (Don) McLaughlin, Mae Lapane, Donna (Gary) Owens and Nancy
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn
Stevens and Helen Ober.
