Shannon Jeanine Buttram, age 45, of Plover, passed away Friday February 3, 2017 at St. Michaels Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service for Shannon will be held at 11 AM on Saturday February 11, 2017 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 9 AM until the time of services at Shuda’s.

Memorials in lieu of flowers will be established in her name for the Humane Society of Portage County and the American Cancer Society.

Shannon was born May 28, 1971 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Flo Young and the late Leo Buttram. She grew up in Branson, MO, she earned her degree in business and finance at Southwest Baptist University. Shannon moved to Stevens Point in 1997 and opened Business Beneficial Finance and served as branch manager until she accepted a position with Skyward in 2006. She currently was a quality management analyst with Skyward.

Shannon was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. For Shannon there was no better place to live than Wisconsin. She loved animals and nature, spending as much time as she could caring for animals, and enjoying weekend walks and trails. She was passionate about her career with Skyward! Shannon loved her work and dedicated herself to doing her best. Pushing to do more, to make sure her work was of the highest quality. She had a delightful wit and humor, always looking for that next thing to laugh about. Shannon will be missed, but her memory will always make you smile!

May Love & Light surround us, and cradle us in our sorrow, and may the beautiful goodness of Shannon’s life be a comfort to all. May the endless gifts of friendship and memories sustain us in our grief.

Shannon is survived by her mother, Flo Young, Waupaca and her brother Kelly (Lynn) Buttram, Keller, Texas. Her special aunt and uncle Robert and Lodema Engstrom, Shorewood, Ill.; 2 nieces, 2 nephews and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leo and her son Jonas Marshall in 2012.
