Wetland Science Conference Coming to Stevens Point
For the City Times
In just a few weeks, wetland experts and enthusiasts from around the Midwest will gather in Stevens Point for the 22nd Annual Wetland Science Conference.
The conference is sponsored by the Wisconsin Wetlands Association, and featured free and ticketed events before Feb. 28 and March 2 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center.
The conference kicks off with a tour of O’so Brewery Company on Feb. 28, along with a discussion of how clean water influences local businesses. That event is free and open to the public.
On March 1, the conference will feature a banquet with interactive historian Rob Nurre beginning at 6:30 PM.
The conference also includes symposia, topical oral sessions, a poster session, working groups and field trips to area wetlands.
More than 300 wetland researchers, wetland professionals, government agency staff, educators, landowners, hunters and anglers, conservationists and concerned citizens from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa will be in attendance.
