Letter: Public, Media Must Stop ‘Inciting Division’
To the Editor-
There is too much hate, bigotry, and animosity in the world today.
It is WRONG when we allow our differences to destroy the lives and families of those we disagree with. When we boycott a company to make a point, WE cause a negative chain reaction that hurts everyone. If we want good people to run for office we can NOT try to destroy the lives of their families. We shouldn’t bash, insult, bully and demean their families, irrespective of their political party!
We should work to stop racial and religious crime and hate without hating their religion, or the color of their skin. It is WRONG when an political officeholder uses his/her position to seek favors for his/her friends or harm to his/her enemies. But it is even WORSE when we, as citizens, do the same thing. Shame on us!
We can disagree and still be friends & work for the common good of all. Otherwise we will destroy our families, our jobs, our community, our nation and the world, as we know it. And that admonition goes for the media too. Please report the facts and quit inciting division and hate.
Julie Lassa, I know how painful it is to lose an election but I can’t imagine how painful it must be after having served for so many years. Thank you for your service to our community and state. You have done a lot of good, and I appreciate it.
