Orville P. Lind, 96, formerly of Stevens Point, died Monday,
Feb. 13, 2017, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.


Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and services will
be held in the spring.


Pisarski Funeral Homes of Stevens Point and Plover assisted
with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mr. Lind was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Stevens Point, a son of
the late Oscar J. and Clara (Tufte) Lind. He graduated from Emerson High School
in 1938.


He entered the U.S. Army Oct. 21, 1942, in Milwaukee. He
served during World War II in France and England. He received the European
African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. He re-enlisted
and served as a sergeant and was honorably discharged Oct. 10, 1948, at Fort
Lewis, Wash.


He was married to Enid F. Dew June 1945 in Bristol, England.
She died Feb. 21, 1996.


He worked as a produce manager for A&P grocery store and
then Westgate Market until retirement.


Survivors include three children, Cheryl (Don Weiler) Lind,
Wisconsin Rapids, Bronwyn (Jeffrey Andrews) Lind, California, and Hans (Karen)
Lind, Stevens Point; one brother, Robert Lind; two sisters, Dorothy Witzke and
Margaret Ewaskowitz; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law,
Camille Lind.


He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gustave,
Carl and Norman; and one sister, Elizabeth Westenberger.
