Mayor Mike Wiza, along with members of the City Council, were in Madison this week to meet with state leaders for discussions on the proposed state budget.
Wiza, along with Alders David Shorr, Mary McComb and Heidi Oberstadt met with Assemblywoman Katrina Shankland and State Senator Patrick Testin on Wednesday, part of “Lobby Day” sponsored by the Wisconsin League of Municipalities.
The group met to discuss and obtain additional information on transportation funding and municipal aid, and the state’s dark store tax.
“We’ve always benefited from having very active representation at the state level,” Wiza said in an email. “Keeping them informed of our needs and concerns continues to be a top priority for both Representative Shankland and Senator Testin. This opportunity will only strengthen that cooperative effort.”
