SPASH boys swimming team caps season with State Meet Saturday

The Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) boys
swimming team will send two individuals and three relay teams to the WIAA Division
1 State Meet this weekend.
Senior Zach Dahlseng and freshman Drew Harris both advanced
to state in the 500 freestyle at the Hudson Sectional Saturday, Feb. 11, while they
will also team up with senior Hunter Shulfer and sophomore Chad Franz in three
relay events at state, which will take place at the University of Wisconsin
(UW) Natatorium at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18.
“It means a lot, because not only going as an individual,
but going as a team, it brings in that team factor of, ‘they’re counting on you
and you’re counting on them,’” said Harris. “And it’s just a great feeling to know
that you’re part of something bigger than just being in as an individual.”
“I’m very pleased,” said SPASH boys swimming head coach Bob
Allen. “It’s been a good year; they’ve worked hard and are very deserving of
the rewards that they have received.”
