A 36-year-old convicted sex offender has been sentenced to prison for possession of child pornography.
Anthony Forshee, of Rosholt, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for three counts of possession of child pornography, followed by 10 years of extended supervision. He appeared before Judge Robert Shannon on Feb. 17.
Forshee was busted after a tip from Google informed local law enforcement, and was originally charged with 21 counts of child porn possession, but 18 were dismissed as part of a plea deal.
According to the criminal complaint, investigators were able to link Forshee to a mobile phone and IP address that sent an image of child pornography. A search of Forshee’s apartment turned up eight DVD’s with images and videos of child porn on them, which Forshee told investigators he thought he had disposed of.
Forshee was previously convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a six-year-old child. He served six years in prison and was released in March 2011.
