Effie A. Henke, age 86, of Stevens Point, WI, died Friday, February 18, 2017 at the Atrium Senior Living.

She married Llewelyn K. Henke on June 2, 1952 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa.

Effie dedicated her life to raising two wonderful children. She will be remembered for her loving and kind nature.

Effie is survived by her daughter and longtime caregiver, Nancy from Stevens Point; son, Ron (Ann Kleckner) of Brooklyn, Wis.; grandson, Keith Wiegerling of Saint Maarten; and sister, Helga Onan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Llewelyn; and two brothers, Casper and Norman Loberg.

In lieu of a service, Effie’s hope and desire was that each day, you would reach out and do an act of kindness, small or large, for a friend or stranger. –you never know what a change it can make in someone’s life.

Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Please, no flowers. Online condolences may be made to www.bostonfuneralhome.net.

Cards should be sent to 1901 Boyington Ave, Stevens Point, Wis., 54481.

Many people have been of invaluable help with the compassionate care of Effie. Her family would like to thank- Ministry Home Care and Hospice; the staff and volunteers at St. Michael’s Hospital; the wonderful care associates at the Atrium Assisted Living; and the staff at the Lincoln Center who made everything so much easier.

-Amy, Sharon, and Rick, you have truly made a positive difference through the years and have shown what real friendship means.
