Police & Sheriff Calls, Feb. 17-21
Feb. 17
Noisy Neighbor: Police responded to a home on the 800 block of Second St. after a caller reported loud music from the residence there at 12:12 AM.
Lost Dumpster: A 44-year-old woman on the 2800 block of Ridge Rd. in Custer reported at 10:41 that she was missing a dumpster. The estimated value of the dumpster was not immediately known.
Stolen Car: A 23-year-old man called police at 1:41 PM to report an acquaintance had stolen his car from a residence on the 1200 block of Northpoint Dr. The car, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, was later returned.
Boatload of Trouble: Two men, ages 25 and 22, were arrested after striking a squad car after being told they weren’t allowed into a bar on the intersection of Main and Second streets.
Possible Drug Activity: Police responded to the 300 block of Michigan Ave. after a called there reported possible drug activity by a 20-year-old man.
Feb. 18
Mailbox Fatality: An 87-year-old woman called deputies to report someone had damaged her $150 mailbox on the 10000 block of Hwy. 49 in Rosholt at 9:15 AM.
Domestic: Deputies arrested a 23-year-old man on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic abuse/act to create fear, and resisting an officer following an incident against a 53-year-old man on the 200 block of Crossroads Dr. at 11:29 AM.
Marijuana Cleanup, Aisle Two: A 48-year-old female employee at Trigs on Academy Ave. called police to report she’d found a plastic baggy containing marijuana at 10:10 PM.
Assault: Police arrested a 31-year-old man on charges of bail-jumping, strangulation/suffocation and substantial battery from a residence on the 1700 block of Strongs Ave. at 2:57 AM.
What a Tool: A 33-year-old man called police to report a 33-year-old woman had stolen from his a $15-dollar screwdriver and $20-dollar hammer from his residence on the 1400 block of Torun Rd. at 5:52 PM. The tools were later recovered.
Feb. 19
Street Fight: Officers responded to a fight on the 900 block of Main St. at 1:36 AM. A 21-year-old man was cited.
OWI: Deputies arrested a 22-year-old man for his first OWI offense during a traffic stop near County Trunk G and Fountain Grove Rd. at 12:18 AM. The man was also charged with operating left of center.
Feb. 20
Get Off My Lawn: A 70-year-old man called police at 11:24 AM to report someone tore up his lawn on the 3100 block of Church St.
Scam: A 32-year-old woman reported being scammed out of $500 from a residence on the 1100 block of Main St. at 1:13 PM.
Feb. 21
Just Won’t Learn: Police cited a 17-year-old boy for his second offense of driving without a license near Church and Heffron at 1:56 AM.
