Joseph A. Meshak, 73, Stevens Point, died Monday, Feb. 27,
2017, while on vacation in Honolulu, Hawaii.


A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March
15, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Burial with full military
honors will be held in Guardian Angel Cemetery.


Visitation will be at Boston Funeral Home from 5 to 7:30
p.m. Tuesday, March 14, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the
Mass.

Mr. Meshak was born July 3, 1943, a son of the late Frank
Sr. and Johanna (Kranski) Meshak in Stevens Point. He grew up here, attended St.
Stanislaus Catholic Grade School and graduated from Pacelli High School in
1962.


He was inducted into the U.S. Army April 20, 1965. He was
stationed in Germany before returning to the states. During his time of service,
he received a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a
Sharpshooter Commendation. He was honorably discharged March 31, 1967.


He was married to Germaine Feist Aug. 30, 1969, at St. Peter
Catholic Church.


He was employed at Consolidated Papers as a mill service
worker, retiring in 2001 after 39-plus years of service to the mill.


He worked for Feist Construction following his retirement.


He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield.
He served the parish as a sacristan, acolyte and usher. He also volunteered as
a greeter at the hospital. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the
United Way and the Central Wisconsin Credit Union. He was also a member of the
Elks Club and the American Legion and served on the Portage County Board of
Supervisors.


Survivors include his wife, Germaine, Stevens Point; one sister;
numerous nieces and nephews; and additional family members.


He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two
sisters.
