Plover VFW Presents ROTC Award

Plover Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10262 Rifle Squad awarded a $500 scholarship, medal, challenge coin and certificate to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point ROTC Cadet Cole J. Irish at the 48th Annual Army ROTC Military Ball held at Stevens Point Country Club on Saturday, Feb. 25.
Cadet Irish, currently a junior in the ROTC program, received the Plover VFW Rifle Squad award for an Outstanding Cadet from Plover VFW Judge Advocate Colonel (Ret.) Mike McKenna.
Cadet Irish hails from Marshfield, WI and will graduate in May of 2018 with a major in elementary education and a minor in military science. He plans to join the Signal Corps in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and to pursue a teaching career in mathematics at the middle school level.
During his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing and hockey.
