Family-friendly science fun returns for its 13th year in the annual Science Extravaganza Day.

The 13th annual Science Extravaganza Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at Ben Franklin Junior High School, 2000 Polk St., Stevens Point. The event is sponsored by Stevens Point FFA Chapter in collaboration with Kappa Delta Pi of University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) and other student groups.

Cost is $3 for adults and children above age 3. Children ages 3 and under are free.

The event will include two shows in the school auditorium, the first will be at 10:30 a.m. and feature REGI Raptor Education, and the second will be at 1:30 p.m. featuring Camp Glacier Hollow Wolves.

The Science Extravaganza provides a day that teaches elementary students about the various aspects of science and agriculture; it is attended by more than 800 community members each year.

There will be several hands-on activities for all ages, including the Exploratorium by UWSP students from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., a petting zoo, super balls, wildlife, a “Save the Frogs” activity and science displays.

There also will be bubbles, Parts and Parts, candle making and chemistry chaos. There will be two other areas that may have an additional supply fee, and those are the Chemistry for Life area and the tie-dying activity.
