Beverly A. Fischer

Beverly Ann Fischer, 80, Wisconsin Rapids, a former longtime
Rudolph area resident and mother of a Plover man, died Sunday, March 5, 2017,
at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
A life celebration service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday,
Sept. 2, at Rudolph Grotto Gardens in Rudolph, with the Rev. Paul Plowman officiating.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids assisted with

Mrs. Fischer was born Sept. 2, 1936, in Wisconsin Rapids, a
daughter of the late Bernard and Gertrude (Hankey) Truman. She grew up in the
Wisconsin Rapids area and worked as a dental hygienist and at the Sugar Bowl
restaurant.
She was married to Carl E. Fischer July 5, 1958, at the
Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Shortly after the marriage, they purchased their farm in
Rudolph where they raised their six children.
She started “Country Western Days” in Rudolph to raise money
for a new elementary school. She started League Against Nuclear Dangers
(L.A.N.D.) when a nuclear power plant threatened to build on the Fischer farm.
She also started “Rudolph Country Christmas” in the village of Rudolph.
She and her husband started working with his mother, Flora
Fischer, at Treasure Attic Antiques and then purchased the business from her
and began Fischer’s Antiques in Rudolph.
Survivors include five children, Scott E. Fischer and Mark
L. Fischer, both of Rudolph, Robin L. (Rev. Paul) Plowman, Tomah, Penny M.
Fischer-Hahn, Wisconsin Rapids, and Joseph (Sara) Fischer, Plover; 15 grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her stepfather; one son,
John; and one grandson.
