SPASH boys basketball team rolls into Sectionals this weekend

The back-to-back WIAA Division 1 State Champion
Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) boys basketball team used a pair
of blowout wins at home last weekend to advance to the Sectional Semifinals.
The sixth-ranked and second-seeded Panthers (20-4,
12-0) rolled to an 88-53 win over 15th-seeded Superior in a WIAA Division 1
Regional Semifinal Friday, March 3, and followed with an 83-46 win over
seventh-seeded Chippewa Falls in a Regional Final Saturday, March 4.
SPASH is set to take on third-seeded Eau Claire North
(20-4) in a Sectional Semifinal at Eau Claire Memorial at 7 p.m. Thursday,
March 9, with the winner to play either top-ranked and top-seeded Oshkosh North
(24-0) or fifth-seeded Marshfield (16-8, 8-4) in the Sectional Final at
Marshfield at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 11, with a trip to the State Tournament on
the line.
