PRFD Members Honored for Service

The Park Ridge Fire Department honored its members for their service during its annual award dinner at Sky Club in February.
Honored for 35 years of service to the village was Ron Slicer. Chris Villarreal was recognized for 10 years of service and Collin Olsen for five years.
Also recognized during the dinner was several levels of firefighter training and education. Keith Plasky, Jr., Anna Mancheski, Raul Zaragoza-Nava and Allan Higgins all completed their Firefighter 1 Course; Lucas Mathias and Matt Bentivegna earned their Firefighter 1 State Certification; Nathan Thompson completed his Firefighter 2 Course; and Collin Olsen has completed his Fire Officer course.
Chris Villarreal, Collin Olsen and Nathan Thompson were also recognized for their ongoing training as Emergency Services Instructor.
Also recognized was the former Fire Chief Jim Meier’s family for the financial contributions with memorial donations in the name of the late chief, who died last year.
