Evening of International Food, Entertainment Offered at UWSP

For the City Times

Featuring songs, dances, fashion and food from around the world, the 47th Annual International Dinner and Entertainment will be held Saturday, April 8, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

With the theme “Destinations – Off the Beaten Path,” the International Club’s event will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., and entertainment performed by international students will begin at 7:30 p.m. Students will serve the meal and perform dances from worldwide locations, including India, Georgia and Latin America. The event will be held in the Laird Room of the Dreyfus University Center, 1015 Reserve St.

This year’s menu will include: tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelet), kimbap (Korean sushi roll), tostones (Caribbean fried plantains), buñuelos de queso (Puerto Rican cheese fritters), gazpacho (Spanish cold soup), estrogonofe de Carne (Brazilian beef stroganoff), ga nuong xa (Vietnamese grilled chicken), Brazilian white rice, pav bhaji (Mumbai vegetable dish), sanjeok (Korean seafood skewers), dal rice (Indian beans and rice), basbousa (Middle Eastern sweet cake), arroz con leche (South American rice pudding), Brazilian vitamina (avocado drink) and Vietnamese ginger tea.
