Robert G. Strike, 83, Plover, passed away on March 16, 2017,
at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.


Bob was born Sept. 11, 1933, in Stevens Point; son of Edwin
and Theresa (Stanczyk) Stroik. Bob attended schools in Stevens Point and
graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1951.


On May 19, 1959, he married Shirley Meshak at St. Stanislaus
Church in Stevens Point. She survives.


Until his time of retirement, Bob worked at Consolidated
Papers-River Division in Whiting for 35 years as a machine tender/operator.


Bob was a faithful member of St. Bronislava’s Catholic
Church in Plover.


He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, drawing/painting,
working around his yard as well as spending time at his cottage in the town of
New Hope with his children and grandchildren.


Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Laurie
(Dave) Warner, Stevens Point, Amy (David) Gaustad, DeForest; one son, Christopher
(Sharon) Strike, Reedsburg; a son-in-law, Mark Shopinski, Wausau; 10 grandchildren,
Nicholas, Sarah, Alec, Anna, Rylee, Benjamin, Samantha, Lindsey, Kate and
Grace; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.


Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Strike-Shopinski;
his parents, Edwin and Theresa Stroik; his sister, Caroline Peterson; and several
other relatives including six brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.


A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 28, at 6 p.m.
at Shuda Funeral Home in Plover. Deacon Vern Linzmeier will officiate. Friends
and relatives will gather to share memories from 3 p.m. until the time of
service at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest in Guardian Angel
Cemetery, Stevens Point.


Bob’s family would like to express their thanks for all the
care he received at both St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield and Aspirus
Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids and for the beautiful Harp music
provided by Laura Haugen during his stay.
