Warren L. Wagner

Warren L. Wagner, 99, Plover, died peacefully on Wednesday,
March 22, 2017, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1917, in What Cheer, Iowa, to the
late John and Mattie (Rose) Wagner, and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law,
Cynthia and James Weidner, Plover; niece, Nancy Driscoll, Denver, Colo.;
grandchildren, James, Kriszta and Nicole Weidner; and daughter-in-law, Janet
Wagner, along with her children, Tim (Lori) and Matt Taylor.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Naoma
of 69 years; son, Kenneth Wagner; and three brothers and one sister.
As a young man, Warren started work at a local gas station
and a farm in What Cheer. After marrying Naoma, they moved to Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, where he started his own construction company – building customized
homes, one of which was featured in a national magazine. He later worked as a
building inspector in Beloit for many years.
Warren was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life.
After retirement, he and Naoma moved to Plover to be near family. Warren
happily resided at The Lodge at Whispering Pines since 2008.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and
