Barbara Jean Helbach passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017,
in Houston, Texas.

Barbara was born April 10, 1951, in Stevens Point, the
fourth of seven children to Walter and Theresa (Turzinski) Helbach. She
graduated from Maria High School in 1969.

Barbara loved to travel and after her high school graduation,
she traveled Europe. While traveling in Luxemburg, an unfortunate bike accident
landed her in the hospital and through friendships, later started a job with an
energy company, the field she worked in most of her life.

After nearly 10 years of living in Europe, Barbara returned
to the states and graduated with Honors from the University of Houston-Clear
Lake with a degree in accounting.

She worked 32 years for Scientific Drilling in Houston from
the time she graduated college till she retired in 2015. Barb rose through the
administrative ranks to the position of director of accounting at her company,
spending the last 10 years before retirement as vice president of international
tax.

She lived in the Houston area for nearly 40 years and was
the proud mother of Stephanie and grandmother to MacKenzie and Naomi. Barbara’s
intelligence and knowledge was only surpassed by her kind and generous heart.

She was preceded in death by granddaughter Naomi and her
parents Walter and Theresa Helbach.

She is survived by one sister, Bonnie (Ron Kohlbeck); five
brothers Conrad (Susan), Paul (Anita), David (Jenny), Jeff (Shirley Guse) and
Tim; and nine nieces and nephews, Casey, Heather, Zach, Adam, Matt, Ty,
Danielle, Chrissy and John.

A memorial service was held March 16 at Klein Funeral Home
in Klein, Texas. Condolence messages can be left online at www.kleinfh.com
website.

Barbara loved Texas but always enjoyed returning to her
Wisconsin home. A celebration of life will take place June 16 at the Bukolt
Park Lodge in Stevens Point.
