March 24
Domestic Abuse: A 46-year-old man was arrested on charges of battery and strangulation after an incident on the 400 block of Sixth Ave. at 2 AM.
Hit & Run: Police cited a 38-year-old woman on a charge of hit and run to an unattended vehicle in the Trig’s parking lot at 1:44 PM.
Liar, Liar: A 36-year-old man was arrested on a warrant after lying to police about his identity following a traffic accident near Michigan Ave. and Heffron St. at 3:28 PM.
Egg Thief: A 28-year-old man was cited for retail theft after stealing a carton of Wild Harvest eggs, valued at $4.49, from Trigs, at 7:55 PM.
March 25
Bike Thief: A 56-year-old man reported someone stole his green, 21-speed bicycle, valued at $200, from the 500 block of First St. at 9:29 AM. No further information about the bike was immediately available.
Bad Boy: Police served an arrest warrant on a 48-year-old man on the 2800 block of Bush St. at 10:38 AM. The man was wanted on four counts of failure to appear/ contempt of court.
Hotel Theft: Police responded to Baymont Inn, 247 N. Division St., at 7:52 PM after an employee there reported several items were stolen by a 21-year-old guest. Among the items taken were a $75 blanket, $10 in wash rags, $20 worth of big towels and a Charter TV receiver worth $300.
Busted Window: A 58-year-old man called police at 9:33 PM to report an unknown person damaged a 5’x6′ picture window at his Wisconsin St. home.
Another Busted Window: Police were called to a home on the 5200 block of Forest Circle North at 10:36 PM after a 63-year-old woman there reported an unknown person shot a marble at her front window, breaking a pane of glass.
Harassment: A 45-year-old woman called police to report she’d been receiving harassing text messages from a 49-year-old woman on Boelter Lake Dr. in Almond at 6:46 PM.
Suspicious Vehicle: A 32-year-old called deputies at 10:51 PM to report a suspicious vehicle on the 3600 block of Water St. in Whiting. The woman told law enforcement the vehicle had followed her home more than once. Deputies were not able to locate the vehicle.
March 26
Bad Little Brother: A 26-year-old woman called deputies at 9:55 AM to report her 18-year-old brother was going on her Stoney Rd. property and causing damage.
Worried Neighbor: A 36-year-old man called deputies at 12:56 PM to report he was concerned about his neighbor’s target shooting on the 9000 block of Rainbows End Rd.
Possible Break-in: A 23-year-old woman called police to report she suspected a break-in of her home on the 1500 block of Torun Rd. Police found no evidence to support her claim.
Are You Serious? A 38-year-old man called deputies to report an oncoming motorist did not keep his headlight brights dimmed long enough to suit him at 8:10 PM near highways 10 and 34.
