Lorraine M. Johnson, 90

Lorraine M. Johnson, age 90 of Stevens Point, passed away Monday March 27 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
She was born December 18, 1926 in Marshfield, Wis., the daughter of the late Edward and Mathilde (Hilgart) Toelle.
She attended school in Rudolph and Wis. Rapids Lincoln High School. Her marriage to Arlyn Johnson took place on June 21, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids. The couple lived in Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point before moving to Brookdale Assisted Living in Stevens Point. Arlyn passed away in 2015.
The couple started their family in Wis. Rapids. Lorraine was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending her time with her children. Hot days in the summer were filled with many trips to Nepco Lake and Lake Wazeecha beaches. Kool-aid stands and picnics are memories that won’t be forgotten. She also loved to have rummage sales.
Lorraine also had a “special needs” son. She always made sure he had all the attention and comfort that he needed. An evening bike ride with Brian was always something she looked forward to.
Lorraine and Arlyn shared many travel memories together. Vacations with family or friends were always the best of times. Lorraine also enjoyed bowling and casino trips. Watching the Packers was always a favorite.
Lorraine is survived by her five children: Steve Johnson of Madison; Tim (Cheryl) Johnson of Stevens Point; Randy (Lynn) Johnson of Rogers, AR; Deb (Bill) Zortman of Forest Junction, Wis.; and Brian Johnson of Stevens Point.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her brother: Ray (Helen) Toelle of Milwaukee; and sister: Margaret Zimmerman of Waukesha.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arlyn, parents Edward and Mathilde Toelle and brother-in-law Gene Zimmerman.
Honoring Lorraine’s wishes, there will be no visitation service. A private family Interment of Ashes will be held June 3, 11 AM, at the Columbarium Garden in the Guardian Angel Cemetery, Stevens Point.
Memorials may be offered to the Special Olympics of Wisconsin, directed to the Johnson Family.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Brookdale for the attention and care they gave Lorraine. Also thanks to everyone at St. Michael’s Hospital, especially Dr. Kiamah, for making her as comfortable as possible.
