Tuesday’s Election Brings New Faces to Council

The Stevens Point City Council has two new faces.
In District 1, challenger Tori Jennings beat out Ald. George Doxtator by a vote of 226 to 86.
Cindy Nebel won the 3rd District over Chris Villarreal, 124 to 42. Both candidates are new to city government, replacing Ald. Garrett Ryan, who decided not to run for re-election.
In District 9, incumbent Mary McComb retains her seat over challenger Polly Dalton, 194 to 118.
Three other candidates, Ald. Meleesa Johnson in District 5; Ald. Mary Kneebone from District 7 and Ald. Shaun Morrow in District 11 all ran unopposed.
Also running unopposed were City Clerk John Moe, Comptroller-Treasurer Corey Ladick and City Attorney Andrew Beveridge.
